Answer: A - Amniocentesis is not a procedure related to breech presentation. Amniocentesis may be done to confirm diagnosis after a positive screening test; to assess lung maturity, especially in cases of preterm labor; and to diagnose an infection inside the uterus. Amniocentesis uses a large needle inserted through the mother's abdomen to obtain a sample of amniotic fluid. This fluid contains fetal tissues with DNA that can be tested for genetic disorders. The rate of miscarriage is increased with amniocentesis, especially when it is performed early in pregnancy.
