Answer: A - In Roe v. Wade (1973), the Supreme Court found that the right to privacy from Griswold included a right to abortion. It found that states could never regulate abortions during the first three months of a pregnancy and that states could regulate them after the fetus was viable as long as the regulations protected the “health of the mother.” The decision was very complicated and based on scientific understandings and technology at the time. There were several follow-up decisions as science advanced.
