While you should be part of the class and participating in the workout, you should make sure you can maintain eye contact with participants, and look like the class is worthwhile and fun. You can encourage participants in difficult sections with a smile or a positive comment about the level of effort. Telling jokes or making light of the activity minimizes the activity and can be demoralizing. However, sharing in the effort but with a visibly positive attitude is supportive and motivating.
