Answer: E - Territorial disputes with American Indian tribes prevented the Oklahoma Territory from becoming a state until 1907, long after most of its neighboring states had entered the Union. Its Eastern neighbor, Arkansas, had become a state more than 70 years earlier (in 1836). Utah was the last state to be admitted in the 19th century, gaining statehood in 1896.
