Answer: A - Pulmonary edema

This is a case of eclampsia. Eclampsia can follow a pregnancy complication called preeclampsia. Eclampsia is a complication of pregnancy in which a woman has high blood pressure and very rapid weight gain. Most women with preeclampsia do not go on to have eclampsia - induced seizures.

Maternal complications of eclampsia include:
1. Pulmonary edema
2. Pneumonia
3. Renal failure
4. Sepsis
5. Hepatic necrosis
