Answer: A - Craft guilds would not have promoted trade because that fell under the domain of the merchant guilds. Craftsmen were interested in their craft and its place in their local marketplace. They would establish production standards to dictate how products were made and in what volume. They similarly regulated the quality of products. The establishment of the apprentice system, and thus the means by which a person could engage in their craft, was an area that proved contentious, because their excessive restriction made it difficult for someone without substantial resources or social clout to engage in the craft.
