Answer: B: Torticollis or wry neck is a condition of the neck, in particular the sternocleidomastoid. The Sternocleidomastoid most superficial and largest muscle in the front of the neck with torticollis. The pain occurs when, the neck is flexed, tilted, and/or rotated to one side. Moderate or severe pain is associated with this condition, which can be caused by a variety of factors. Causes could be poor positioning of the head while sleeping which could cause the sternocleidomastoid to contract unnaturally. In more severe cases, it can be caused by a tumor pressing against a nerve in the neck. Most cases of torticollis can be treated with massage, stretching, and hydrotherapy, but if the condition persists, the client should be advised to consider physical therapy.
