Answer: B - A capillary refill of greater than 2 seconds in a pediatric patient is considered abnormal unless proven otherwise. The measurement of capillary refill has been deemed inaccurate in adults; however, in children 2 years old and less, it is generally reliable with a normal finding being 2 seconds or less. With that said, you must take into account factors such as cold weather that can artificially increase the rate of capillary refill.
