Answer: B - The Crusades were a series of pilgrimages from the Western World to Jerusalem to protect it or regain it from the Muslims. Many knight orders went to the Crusades, like the Teutonic Knights, who helped the pilgrims visiting the Holy Land. While the Crusades were presented to be of noble cause, there were plenty of those who sought glory from what the pilgrimage would bring them.
