Answer: A -Most politicians and many scholars believe that the media’s greatest influence on politics is in its ability to set the political agenda. “Agenda setting” is the idea of placing the important political issues in the political limelight. If Americans can only learn about political issues through the media, it is natural that they would assume that the most important issues are the ones the media tells them about. For example, it is reasonable that Americans would not consider the federal budget an important issue if the media never reports on it.
