Zone 3 is the “area of lumbrical origin”. It is from the pulleys to the distal margin of the transverse carpal ligament. It does not have any specific impact on flexor tendon healing after injury.

Remodeling will be affected if there is heavy keloid or scar formation.

Zone 2 injuries are more prone to form limiting adhesions from the tendon to the surrounding tissues.

Zone 4 is the area where the flexor tendons lie very close to each other so they are more prone to form tendon adhesion with each other which limits the glide.
