Answer: E - Prior to the European arrival, the Native Americans were highly diverse and did not necessarily see themselves as a unified group sharing common interests. Even tribes that shared the same culture would speak different languages and create slightly different standards for their societies. When combined with the regional differences and multiple means of support, the tribes had little in common with each other and did not view themselves as a single group until centuries of dominance had depleted their numbers and given them the common goal of survival.
