The most common complication following a THR is dislocation of the prosthetic implants. So care must be taken to avoid certain postures and movements during the first few months after surgery. Crossing the legs, turning foot inward, bringing the knee close to chest, sitting in the low chair will create rotational movements of implants which will lead to dislocation , therefore all of these movements should be avoided.
