Ice melting is endothermic reaction. True or false?

  1. True
  2. False
Explanation
Answer: True

An endothermic reaction requires energy input to proceed. In other words, in an endothermic reaction the products have a higher energy than the reactants.  When the ice consumes (heat) energy, which allows a transition to occur, melting ice is an endothermic response. The ice cube needs heat to melt, so the process is endothermic.
