Mucokinesis is the movement of mucous. Ciliary activity is the movement of cilia in a wavelike fashion to propel mucous up towards the larger bronchi. If this or mucous production is compromised, mucokinesis is compromised, and normal mucociliary clearance cannot be achieved.
