There are 160 questions (140 scored, 20 unscored) on the TMC exam divided across the following three categories: Patient Data (50 questions), Troubleshooting and Quality Control of Devices, and Infection Control (20 questions), and Initiation and Modification of Interventions (70 questions).

The TMC exam is 3 hours long.

Earning a passing score on the TMC exam is required in order to take the CSE exam. A passing score on the CSE exam is required to earn the RRT credential.
