Hyperglycemia is a medical complication of diabetes where there is increased glucose in the blood and too little insulin. Hypoglycemia (Insulin shock) is a medical complication of diabetes in which there is not enough glucose in the blood with increased levels of insulin. Both these complications can cause diabetic coma.

Adrenal crisis will not cause diabetic coma. Addison’s disease occurs when there is hypo secretion of cortisol and aldosterone by adrenal glands.
