Cycloplegic drops paralyze the eye’s accommodative ability. A cycloplegic refraction procedure indicates the magnitude of the refractive error. Full correction of hyperopic errors, however, can never be based on cycloplegic findings alone because correction of the latent factor will only blur distance vision.
