Answer: A - All of the wounds above are examples of open wounds except contusions, which are closed wounds commonly called bruises. Keep in mind that large bruises can be indicators of serious internal bleeding. If bruising is seen on a patient, be sure to look for other possible signs of internal bleeding, such as bleeding form the ears, mouth, or nose.
