There are 46 questions on the Red Seal Cook exam, divided across the following three categories: Tasting Examination (1 question), Theory Examination (45 questions), and Service Examination (qualitative in person observation).

The Sommelier exam is taken over the course of one day.

The passing score of the Sommelier exam is 60%.

Passing the Sommelier exam grants the test taker the credential of “Certified Sommelier” which is highly regarded in the hospitality sector.
