Answer: C - About 95% of ectopic pregnancies are located in the fallopian tubes. Ectopic pregnancies are when the zygote implants in a location other than the uterine cavity. This can be life threatening. Abdominal pain may be absent and some patients do not miss their period. Often the pregnancy tests of these patients shows as negative. If there is lower abdominal pain or unexplained hypovolemia in a woman of child-bearing age it is considered an ectopic pregnancy until proven otherwise.
