Answer: B - In most cases, EMS personnel will not know the full outcome of a patient on discharge since EMS providers will not always be with the patient throughout their full course of treatment. During treatment and documentation it is important for the EMS provider to document mechanisms of injury, GCS, trauma score (or essential components), spinal immobilization, and the status of airway, breathing, and circulatory systems. Other things to keep in mind as the EMS provider is the position of the patient, time and weather of day and any other factors that may provide an insight into possible injuries that providers will come across in trauma patients.
