Answer: C - In Worchester v. Georgia (1832), the Supreme Court ruled that the order requiring non-Native Americans on Native American land to have a license was unconstitutional, earning the Supreme Court the scorn of Andrew Jackson, who would not enforce the decision. When the Cherokee were being driven from their land in Georgia, Samuel Worchester, a missionary who lived among them, refused to leave in the land in protest of the government's treatment of the Cherokee. This refusal sparked the chain of events that led to the case, although in the end Jackson was true to his word and the state of Georgia removed Worchester.
