Answer: B - Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by the inflammation of the median nerve and causes numbness as a chief complaint. The median nerve runs through the middle groove at the inside of the wrist. During acute flexion of the wrist, your patient will complain of numbness of the palmar surface of the thumb, the index finger, the middle finger, and part of the ring finger.
