Answer: A - The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act is the primary U.S. federal antihacking statue. This Act was written in 1986 and prohibits seven activities: 1) the knowing access of computers of the federal government to obtain classified information; 2) the intentional access of a computer to obtain information from a financial institution, federal government, or any protected computers involved in interstate or foreign communication; 3) the intentional and unauthorized access of computers of the federal government; 4) the knowing access of a protected computer without authorization with the intent to defraud; 5) knowingly causing the transmission of a program, information, code, or command, and as a result, intentionally causing damage to a protected computer; 6) the known trafficking of computer passwords with the intent to defraud; and 7) the transmission of communication containing threats to cause damage to a protected computer.
