Answer: D - Peripheral ossifying fibroma exclusively affects the gingiva of teens and young adults. Signs and symptoms are interdental papilla nodular mass in the anterior maxillary region. The fibroma can be pink to red in coloring and are often ulcerated. The lesions are usually < 2cm. Surgical removal of fibroma down to the periosteum and local irritants represents treatment.
