Answer: C - Hypothermia is a major complication for patients with large surface area burns. When the skin is burnt it will quickly lose the ability to utilize thermoregulatory functions as a part of vasodilatation in damaged blood vessels. This will cause rapid heat loss and eventually hypothermia will ensue.
