The Praxis II tests are subject-knowledge teacher certification exams given by ETS and recognized by 30 states for licensure for public school teachers at all levels - elementary school, middle school, and high school.

The Praxis II: World and US History: Content Knowledge (0941/5941) is a two-hour exam with 120 multiple choice questions. The exam can either be taken on paper (0941) or via computer delivery (5941) The Praxis History exam is directed towards aspiring teachers of US or World history in secondary schools.

The exam has five categories, each with 30 questions. The topics on the Praxis II: World and US History CK exam are:

  • World History to 1450 C.E.
  • World History: 1450 C.E. to the Present
  • United States History to 1877
  • United States History: 1877 to the Present
  • Historical Thinking Skills
