The PRAXIS II Physics exam is administered by the Educational Testing Service four times per year to prospective high school teachers who wish to prove their knowledge of basic principles of Physics, including processes and models, theories, and forms. Passing scores are set by the individual states, and applicants may take the exam depending on the dates given by their closest testing center. This exam is taken in paper form and the use of a calculator is prohibited. Applicants may retake the paper test as many times as they choose. 

Test-takers have 2 hours to complete 100 multiple-choice questions. Applicants must rely on their problem-solving skills and their knowledge of Physics to answer questions that include: 

  •  Electricity and Magnetism
  •  Heat and Thermodynamics
  •  History and Nature of Science

The Praxis Physics Content exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes long.

A passing score for the Praxis Physics Content exam is between 126 and 153 depending on the state.

A passing grade on the Praxis Physics Content exam is intended for individuals who intend to become a Physics teacher.
