The PRAXIS II Government/Political exam is administered by the Educational Testing Service four times per year to potential high-school teachers who wish to prove their knowledge of U.S. Government history and concepts, as well as major Political Science theories. Passing scores are set by the individual states, and applicants may take the exam depending on the dates given by their closest testing center. This exam may be taken in paper or computerized form. Applicants may retake the paper test as many times as they choose, while on computer takers must wait 30 days before a retest.

Test-takers have 2 hours to complete 120 multiple-choice questions. Questions include topics on comparative politics and public policies.
