The CFP exam is 170 questions, divided into the following eight categories: Professional Conduct and Regulation (8%), General Principles of Financial Planning (15%), Risk Management and Insurance Planning (11%), Investment (17%), Tax Planning (14%), Retirement Savings and Income Planning (18%), Estate Planning (10%), and Psychology of Financial Planning (7%).
The CFP exam is split into two 3 hour sections.
The CFP exam does not have a predetermined passing score.
Passing the CFP exam grants the test taker Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.
