There are 135 questions (120 scored, 15 not scored) on the ACSM Personal Trainer exam, divided across the following four categories: Initial Client Consultation and Assessment (25%), Exercise Programming and Implementation (45%), Exercise Leadership and Client Education (20%), and Legal and Professional Responsibilities (10%).

The ACSM Personal Trainer exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
